Summary:
We are looking for a part-time EHS coordinator to join Justrite Safety Group at our Mattoon, IL Justrite Manufacturing location. Mattoon is a part of the Chemical Safety business, under the Justrite Safety Group, manufacturing safety cans and flammable cabinets.

As a EHS coordinator, you'll work closely with the EHS Manager as well as other departments, with the primary focus to support the EHS department in the development and growth of the safety culture. You will have the opportunity to learn production, machining and engineering skills via hands-on training and work. The EHS coordinator is a hands-on position with interaction within all levels of the organization and be given projects with deliverables.

Responsibilities:
* Assist in developing and presenting environmental, health and safety (EHS) training.
* Provide support with EHS programs to ensure regulatory compliance and continuously improve performance.
* Develop working knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
* Provides support to ensure a safe working environment in compliance with government regulations and company procedures.
* Schedules and prepares various internal and external EHS meetings, including preparing reports and presentations.
* Conduct EHS Assessments (PPE, Hazard/Risk for new equipment/process, Safety Walks).
* Participate in Lean activities including Kaizen events, 5S, Preventive Maintenance programs, root cause analysis, 5 Why and other Lean tools to enhance productivity.
* Interface with Value Stream Managers, Team Members and senior management to drive EHS continual improvements.

Requirements:
* High-school diploma, college degree a plus
* Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Strong leadership and training abilities.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Acute attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
