Job Summary:As an Ink Technician Lead at G+D, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of ink management and serving as a Silk Screen press operator when necessary. Your role will involve setting up and operating automatic cylinder screen printing presses, adhering to established procedures, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining quality benchmarks. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of ink management within the press room.
  • Serve as the back-up Silk Screen press operator, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality output.
  • Set up automatic cylinder screen printing presses, including installing screens, squeegees, and flood bars.
  • Register stock to press and screen image, ensuring accurate alignment.
  • Adjust dryer settings as required for proper drying or curing of prints.
  • Print proof sheets and verify registration and color matches against job orders.
  • Maintain optimum production rates, color density, registration, and quality standards according to customer specifications.
  • Conduct continuous inspections of job specifications and quality throughout production runs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
  • Provide direction and guidance to press helpers as necessary.
  • Complete accurate production records to document work performed during each shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness of press, workstation, and immediate area; perform minor repairs when needed.
  • Train press helper(s) on press operation techniques and best practices.
  • Conduct research and development activities to enhance processes and improve quality within the silk screen department.
  • Act as a flatbed operator when required.
  • Serve as a backup for the cylinder press during vacations and absences on all shifts.
  • Coordinate with other departments to optimize workflow and meet quality standards.
  • Perform any additional job duties assigned by the supervisor.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating a silk screen press.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Eyesight correctable to 20/20 for equipment operation and adequate visual acuity to perform job duties.
  • Normal color perception.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the plastic card industry.
  • Familiarity with operating a Sakurai Press.
