OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANYFox TV Stations

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX 32 Chicago is on the hunt for a dynamic Sports Producer with a passion for in-depth storytelling and a rich understanding of what makes the sports world captivating. We're not after the average sportscast producer; we need a forward-thinker who crafts compelling narratives that celebrate the human spirit and passion behind athletic endeavors. This role is about innovation-podcasts, original programming, live specials, and short-form documentaries that resonate profoundly with our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and bring to life live sports shows, including events and digital content, from conception to completion.
  • Develop and produce engaging sports content that steps beyond conventional coverage.
  • Conduct interviews, write riveting scripts, guide editing processes, and manage show budgets efficiently.
  • Oversee team operations, including working with talent, Associate Producers, Production Associates throughout each production phase.

Job Duties Snapshot:

  • Plan and create engaging Live Sports Shows for studio and on-location settings, including research, rundown generation, and graphics pre-building.
  • Produce sports segments for newscasts and longer-format programs.
  • Generate and execute new content ideas while executing existing project plans.
  • Perform pre-production, production, and post-production tasks, including both writing and editing duties.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in live news and show production.
  • Background in podcasting, social media, and documentary storytelling is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication, along with effective negotiation and presentation capabilities.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for creative writing and strong narrative development.
  • Experienced in project management with the ability to juggle multiple assignments and strategically adjust to shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro editing software is strongly desired.
  • DSLR shooting and lighting expertise is a plus.
  • Attentive to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Avid interest and broad knowledge of sports, notably Chicago sports, staying updated on developments and news.
