Description

The incumbent is responsible for the administration of a diverse portfolio of real estate assets held in a wide variety of fiduciary accounts. This includes ongoing asset management, lease negotiations, managing tenant relationships, negotiation of asset purchases and sales and vetting, engaging, and overseeing contractors performing a wide range of construction services, while acting in compliance with internal policy and procedures, governing document provisions, and outside legal and regulatory constraints. The incumbent will be a detailed oriented and self-motivated individual.

Duties:

  • Handles all day-to-day transactions in the management of real estate assets, i.e. paying utility bills, payment of taxes and insurance, completing necessary repairs, etc.
  • Provides real estate asset management expertise and high levels of client service for a complex portfolio of real estate assets in accordance with client investment needs, fiduciary standards, and the bank's policies and procedures.
  • Provides clients with advice to complex real estate problems, such as complex commercial transactions, land management, etc.
  • Supports the acquisition of real estate investment opportunities through due diligence to ensure that transactions are compliant with governing documents, fiduciary standards, and the bank's policies and procedures.
  • Supports disposition efforts of real estate assets including contract negotiation, transaction management and closing.

Qualifications

The incumbent will possess a strong understanding of Wealth Management and Asset Management lines of business, and extensive experience with real estate portfolio management and commercial real estate transactions. Above average knowledge of the sale process and ability to independently negotiate the listing and sale of property. Advanced knowledge of the leasing process and ability to negotiate residential and commercial lease renewals and extensions. The incumbent will possess excellent interpersonal and client services skills.

Expertise:

  • 5-7 years of real estate experience including at least 3 years of sales and property management experience.
  • 3+ years experience in a Trust environment
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required with additional course work in finance, real estate management, and Trust School preferred.
  • Wealth Management experience
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • This person will work closely with senior management on a daily basis

    BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $73,100 and $100,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
    This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
