The White Construction team is looking for a Junior Estimator/Takeoff Specialist to join the team.

The Junior Estimator/Takeoff Specialist would primarily be tasked with providing quantity takeoffs for Highway, Civil & Industrial estimates. This position would receive direction from and work closely with Estimators and Project Managers. The training/experience gained through this position provides advancement to the title of Estimator.  Timing depends on effort, progress, and success of the individual candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review and understand contract specifications, documents & drawings to perform takeoff’s accurately
  • Performs plan measurements to develop and/or verify quantity estimates
  • Stay apprised of industry standard software including researching and reviewing new technologies to expedite the takeoff process
  • Communicate with Engineering Consultants and Designers to coordinate information digitally to complete takeoff’s
  • Develops presentation and submittal materials exhibits utilizing basic CAD and drafting
  • Occasional project site visits and pre-bid meeting attendance
  • Special projects as necessary
  • Assist with other estimating duties as assigned 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree desired (Civil Engineers, Construction Management, or related field); High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience in construction industry preferred
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS 
  • Must be authorized to work in the US now and in the future without company sponsorship.

TRAINING  
  • Safety and compliance training on the job.
