Summer 2013 Undergraduate Internship, Ad Sales - Home Team Sports (Fox Sports - Job Opening at FOX in Chicago, IL

Projects/Tasks:

• Work with National Sales Coordinator to monitor existing advertising schedules and provide weekly post analysis (weekly exact times process)
• Work with National Sales Representative to enter sales orders, process make goods and manage revisions to orders
• Shadow each person in the office (Sales Manager, Business Development, Account Executives, Client Service Representatives, and Client Service Coordinators) to see the complete process of a sale
• Learn how to contact advertising agency to facilitate contract and traffic issues, such as copy delivery, receipt of contracts, and fulfillment of payment invoices
• Learn to research prospective advertiser (using the internet, industry trade magazines, competitive network information) to determine feasibility of utilizing FOX Sports Net to reach target geographic, demographic and psychographic audience
• Work with account executive to prepare media schedule and presentations to reach company's target audience
• Learn how to organize client contact list, schedule updates and contract confirmations
• Learn how to provide local marketing support to prospects and clients
• Attend bi-weekly sales meetings on Wednesday @ 9AM
• Learn effective phone coverage for a highly functioning sales office
• Learn effective organizational skills: Update general office phone lists, traffic contact lists, pre-sell
