Research Specialist in Health Sciences
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago is looking to fill multiple Research Specialist in Health Sciences positions. for the Psychiatric Institute, or Neuropsychiatric Institute. The positions are part of our Research Trials programs at University of Illinois at Chicago and The University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center.
The successful candidate will carry out research and/or service both supervised by and independent of the principal investigator or laboratory supervisor utilizing knowledge or equipment, methodology, and current developments in the field.
The Research Specialist must be knowledgeable about current developments and research findings in health science disciplines, able to evaluate their potential applicability to research programs, and adapt those skills to use ad use them in the laboratory. Knowledge of one or more of the following is required; Chromatography, propagation and storage handling of microorganisms, laser spectroscopy, recombinant DNA methodology and synthesis.
Master's degree (preferred) or a Bachelor's degree in health, biological or chemical sciences, and at least one year of experience in a scientific laboratory or a combination of education and research laboratory experience that can be judged to be equivalent.
