| Description: | Norwood Crossing is seeking Marketing Interns to join our team. We are nestled in a historic district called Norwood Park on Chicago's North side. We are 115 year old organization that is in the initial stages of building the most resident and employee focused, state-of the-art facility in the area. Our Marketing Interns are responsible for assisting the Marketing team in attracting and contracting all new clients of Norwood Crossing and Norwood Seniors Network. This includes assisting in the development and implementation of sales and marketing programs including advertising campaigns, direct mail, media relations, and the production of appropriate marketing materials leading to increased exposure to client base and business opportunity. Internship duration will be 90 days with an opportunity for extension. Come work where tradition is rich and your hard work will be appreciated. |
| Duties: | Duties include but are not limited to: *Assist in all sales and marketing activities. *Analyzes sales, client, industry, and service area statistics to determine business growth potential. *Monitors, reports, and improves performance on a continual basis. *Coordinates Sales and Marketing operations with other employees and divisions of the organization as necessary. *Develops, maintains and improves business relations with all customers of the organization. *Advertise and promote products and services. *Seeks out and targets new customers and new sales opportunities, initiates action plan to approach and secure new business and clients. *Assist in the development and implementation of an active community outreach program, including presentations, trade shows and special events. *Assist in the continuing and expanding client base for delivery of services, including handling all phone inquiries and tours, leading them through the sales process and maintaining consistent and creative follow-up. *Assist in all contact management, maintains accurate records of all contacts, sales calls, names, phone numbers and results, etc. to create a database for future reference and follow-up. *Works with other team members to secure service sales and an increased client base, including all initial contacts, visits, and contract signing appointments. *Other duties as assigned and appropriate. |
| Qualifications: | *Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. *Bachelors degree in Marketing or related field preferred (or in progress). *Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and to accept constructive criticism. *Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. *Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and will have a keen understanding of the seniors' market; *Must be proactive, self-disciplined and able to demonstrate a high level of productivity, responsibility and accountability. *Must have a high degree of interpersonal skill which to deal successfully with clients, community and agency contacts. *Must have empathy for, and an understanding of, the needs of the elderly. *Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office products. |
