Intern - Customer Experience & Insights

Customer Experience & Insights Department

The McDonald's Customer Experience & Insights department is responsible for managing several channels of customer communication, including 800 number calls, e-mail, letters and social media (i.e. Twitter). The department's objective is to provide customer satisfaction and recovery while increasing awareness for the brand and the company.

In this role, the intern will work in the area of customer insights.

For customer insights, the intern will query databases to retrieve both quantitative and qualitative customer feedback information. The intern will analyze data using Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, sorting/ranking) to uncover actionable insights and drive the success of the brand, individual products and restaurant operations.

Throughout the summer, this individual will create reports, summarize customer feedback and present findings, providing actionable insights. The intern will review short and long-term trends in feedback to identify opportunities for improvement. This individual will perform a new product launch analysis and update key reports that are viewed by operations and marketing contacts.

The intern will also update and present an informal eating out (IEO) competitive activity analysis.

The candidate should be able to work independently while being part of a strong team. As time allows, the intern may experience a visit to our customer contact center as well as gain exposure to restaurant operations.
