Position Description
The Global Trade Compliance Analyst is responsible for assisting the Global Trade Compliance Manager as necessary to ensure Grainger complies with U.S. Government International Trade Regulations, Grainger Export Policy, and Foreign Government International Trade Regulations. This position will be responsible for submitting export license requests and export classification requests as needed. This position will collaborate with International Product Management, GIS Product Management and third party Trade Consultant with the annual trade data solicitation. This position works closely with Grainger Export personnel to ensure regulatory accuracy on export orders and to provide expertise and guidance to various internal business units.

* Ensure export transactions comply with U.S. Government regulations by continually evaluating processes and system updates as they relate to International Trade.
* Determination of HTS/Schedule B numbers for certain Grainger products.
* Assist in ECCN classification as needed.
* Submit ECCN classification requests to BIS as needed.
* Submit export license applications to BIS and/or OFAC as needed.
* Determine appropriate use of available BIS license exceptions for export orders.
* Ensure company compliance with existing export licenses.
* Assist with Export Compliance training initiatives.
* Assist in internal audits to monitor compliance with export policies and procedures.
* Provide guidance and support to the Global Trade Compliance Specialist
* Educate and assist Grainger Suppliers with Trade Data and US Government compliance.
* Assist with the annual product data solicitation project to ensure compliance of trade data, including export and TAA compliance information.
* Work with the International Product Specialist to ensure the integrity of product data and supplier agreements.
* Respond to customer and branch requests for NAFTA / Country of Origin certification.
* Coordinate imports from Mexico on returned shipments by assisting U.S. Customs Broker to ensure accurate and compliant entry into the U.S.
* Support International Leadership Team with projects as needed.


Position Requirements
* A minimum of 2 years experience in export compliance with demonstrated practical experience applying the EAR, classifying the ECCN, and preferably experience with drafting BIS license applications and/or applying applicable license exceptions.
* Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of regulations of the following USG agencies: BIS, OFAC, Census.
* College degree or equivalent related experience.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to perform in a rapidly changing multi-task environment.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
* Project management and organization skills.
* SAP experience preferred.
* Experience/knowledge of trade regulations for foreign countries.
