Position Description
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s health, has a new position requiring an experienced individual to manage the production of file conversions for publications. This position requires a detail-oriented professional to become an expert in managing our marketing and publications’ digital asset database system.
Reporting to the Manager, Publications Production and Manufacturing, this individual will track all of our titles, ISBN numbers, pricing; develop and manage ebook publications processes and schedules; analyze and select content conversion vendors then negotiate best practices and costs.
Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required. Three years experience in coordinating or managing digital production processes required, including metadata management and file conversion, preferably in a publishing environment. Experience with XML and electronic and online publishing preferred. Proficiency with PC and Mac software required, specifically MS Office, database management, Adobe Creative Suite, and Adobe Acrobat. Must have a strong technical acumen and an ability to quickly learn new technologies. Familiarity with utilizing various file formats such as epub is highly desirable. Some weekend work and travel may be required.
