| This position is responsible for supporting the college Ellucian Banner XE system and related components. The individual in this position will perform such tasks as applying Banner and Oracle upgrades/patches, monitoring system performance, and developing custom solutions as needed. The Banner system consists of an Oracle Database and several Oracle Application Servers all running on Oracle Enterprise Linux (Equivalent to RedHat Enterprise Linux.) The Oracle environment is virtualized using Oracle Virtual Server. Additional components include Ad Astra Resource Scheduling system, Crystal Reports, BlackBoard, and an in-house web-portal system. These components are virtualized using a combination of VMWare and Oracle Virtual Server and run on Windows Server or Oracle/RedHat Enterprise Linux. Maintain the Banner and Oracle software by applying periodic upgrades and patches. Setup and maintain test instances of systems as needed for end-user testing and work with end-users to resolve issues found during testing. Troubleshoot production problems and interact with Ellucian Banner XE, Oracle, and other vendors support as needed to resolve issues. Respond to Technical Assistance Center (TAC) calls as assigned. Develop custom packages, functions, tables, views, and triggers as needed. Document all custom solutions developed. *Full job description available at the time of interview. | |
| Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area required. Three years of application development experience required. Two years of experience with Linux operating systems required. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; experience working with administrators, senior managers, and members of other departments. Organizational skills for developing project timeline for upgrades, patches and release installs needed. Demonstrated ability to lead complex administrative Information Technology projects. | |
| Three years relational database experience with Oracle strongly preferred. Experience with TOAD, sql, and pl/sql strongly preferred. Experience working with Ellucian Banner XE Banner system preferred. | |
