The purpose of this position is to provide direct assistance to University Counsel (UC), office management and policy implementation for the Chicago legal office in cooperation with UC, Deputy Counsel, Campus Counsel (CC), Senior Associate/Associate and Assistant Counsels, and Director of Operations and Strategic Services using experience, knowledge, initiative, discretion and independent professional judgment.
Serves as a confidential assistant and primary resource person to the UC and CC in handling and safeguarding sensitive and confidential issues. Manages and oversees the UC's daily activities including oversight/knowledge of the many issues that involve the UC. Maintains the UC's and CC's calendar including scheduling daily meetings and long-range commitments. Receives verbal, electronic and written inquires for UC and CC and redirect inquiries to other attorneys, as appropriate, on their behalf. Acts on behalf of the UC and CC to respond to inquiries to bridge gap between availability and urgency of required attention which requires comprehensive knowledge about the current matters UC/CC are managing, University General Rules and Statue, University policies, procedures and established precedents.
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management or related field.
2. Two years of professional level accounting, managerial and/or business experience, one year of which was at an administraive level.
3. Must have experience in Project Management.
