Position Description

Role Overview
This role exists to help manage the company's presence on the major social media sites while also helping to establish and manage procedures and content in support of Youtube, the Social Media Research Center and various types of social media engagement materials for co-workers.
 
The Associate Community Manager is responsible for assisting with the growth of the company's online presence via social media channels which currently include Spiceworks, Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin and Youtube as well as managing internal and external efforts around social media moderation. Effective management of community activity includes supporting the Social Media Community Manager in: working with a cross functional team on the development of the social media conversation and blogging calendar, executing community posts, community engagement, scorecard development and delivering insights for performance improvement.

The Associate Community Manager is also responsible for maintaining the Social Media Resource Center and ensuring that its design is optimized for ease of use by co-workers. This individual is also expected to assist with the development of basic training content on each of the major platforms.
The Associate Community Manager also owns the on-going process of identifying co-workers that are using social media for business purposes and ensuring that they have registered their account and are in compliance with the company’s social media policy.
 
Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Manage the company Social Media Registry for co-workers including spot monitoring and compliance
  • Develop and implement a communication plan for co-workers engaged in social media for business purposes
  • Maintain the Youtube channel using industry best practices
  • Maintain content on the Social Media Resource center including uploading new content and removing outdated materials
 
Responsibilities
  • Help maintain the Conversation Calendar
  • Assist with uploading pre-scheduled posts
  • Assist with monitoring social media conversations
  • Assist with the development of the social media scorecards for each platform
 
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience in Marketing/Advertising/PR/Journalism or Brand Management
 
Other Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media programs
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Excellent writing skills
  • This individual should be passionate about translating the company's experience into the digital environment to delight our customers and co-workers.
  • Experience with WordPress, Radian6 and/or Buddy Media
  • Possesses an understanding of social media and web 2.0 trends
  • Extremely well organized with excellent time management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to think fast and improvise when necessary
  • Passion for emerging media trends and technology
  • Ability to quickly adapt in a rapidly changing environment while maintaining a high energy level
