Description:Norwood Crossing is seeking an Admissions Coordinator to join our team. We are nestled in a historic district called Norwood Park on Chicago's North side. We are 116 year old organization with the most resident and employee focused, state-of the-art facility in the area.

Under the direction of the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Coordinator admits patients to healthcare programs and facilities by maintaining admitting guidelines; marketing programs; obtaining applicant information; data entry; screening applicants; completing admissions process.

Duties:Duties include but are not limited to:

*Understands and is invested in the mission of Norwood Crossing and our dedication to our residents. This understanding is reflected and exhibited consistently through a customer service approach to the execution of all duties, responsibilities and interactions at the workplace.

*Observes and practices all safety standards and protocols as set forth by manufacturers, the department(s), Safety committee, and the facility as appropriate.

*Markets programs and facilities by preparing and providing informational brochures; participates in marketing events bi-monthly; answering questions; conducting tours.

*Obtains applicant information by requesting completed applications and medical information; verifying and clarifying information; interviewing patients and family members; explaining admission criteria.

*Admits patients by completing admission and financial responsibility forms; coordinating and arranging physical, social, emotional, and support service requirements.

*Prepares admissions reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends, updating daily logs and tracking document; data entry.

*Keeps patients safe by following safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

*Works with medical, nursing, and accounting staff to ensure appropriate patient placement.

*Protects organization reputation by keeping information confidential.

*Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.

*Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

*Completes all admission contracts with resident and or family members upon admission and or transition to another level of care.

*Responsible for collecting fees due in relation to long-term care and care/respite.

*Follows all IDPH guidelines including obtaining required screens.

*Maintains and updates resident's files.

*Follows admissions protocol including preparation of room for planned admission, notifying staff, etc.

*Responsible for ordering office supplies and ensure adequate amount readily available.

*Performs any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:*Ability to sit for long periods of time.

*Ability to speak on the telephone for long periods of time.

*Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.

*Ability to pass the pre-employment and annual physical examinations.

*Excellent telephone skills.

*Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English.

*Ability to operate a personal computer for word processing and database programs.

*Ability to communicate information verbally and in writing.

*Ability to work with residents, family members, advisors/various interdisciplinary team members.

*Job may require flexibility and ability to work weekends.

*Bachelor's Degree preferred.

*Experience in healthcare preferred.
